Ah, How Sweet

I know I just did a sleepy post, but I missed this picture that was still on my phone and it's too sweet.
Travis, Emmett

And this begs the question: If that's Buzz Lightyear then Travis must be Evil Emperor Zurg?

Also, just a couple days ago I needed to get Emmett up and he gave me one look and said, "I'm still sleeping" and promptly turned over and tucked in.

Soccer

Avery played soccer this Fall for the first time in a league. There were highs and lows, but mostly he loved it.

So here's a bunch of shots from the season...

SCORE!

Avery's so happy with his score that he's skipping along and I think this shot is fun with the ref enjoying Avery's joy.

Sometimes he tweaked his back that he hurt some months before and had to sit out.

The parent tunnel would get many run-throughs and on this occasion they all tumbled on each other.

We had a really frustrating end to the season. This boy on top of Avery was not a nice one. Earlier in the game he had charged our goalie because he was mad the goalie stopped his ball. There were other aggressions too, but then when he and Avery were both working at the same ball, Avery's flailing arm managed to elbow the kid in the face. Total accident. Grandma H has it all on video. But what does the kid do? He turns on Avery, shoves him down and then slams him with his body, knees first straight to Avery's ribs. Yet Avery was ejected and had to sit out the rest of his very last game while the other kid got to play. SO incredibly frustrating.

Despite the frustrating end, Avery mostly had fun with the season and definitely had growth in being a team member. He focuses too heavily on wins and losses, allowing loss to affect him too negatively. Basketball is up next, so we'll keep working on attitude and hope for lots more fun.

Silly Sleepers

A year ago today was the last time I posted a sleepy boy post, so I thought today I do a little year in review of a selection of my silly sleeper shots. I've included twelve instances but instead of monthly, most are from the first half of the year because I guess my little guys are growing out of it.

January: Emmett in the messy playroom, supposed to be in bed for the night, but he decided to go play and eventually passed out.

February: Carson in the office with me.

February: Emmett was put in time out and promptly nodded off.
Photobucket

February: Emmett mid meal (okay, so Emmett has NOT grown out of this. Dinnertime especially this happens a lot)
Photobucket

March: Carson passes out within two blocks of the house. Emmett falls asleep in the car a lot, but not Carson very often.
Photobucket

March: Emmett passes out on the arm of the couch.
Photobucket

He's actually still standing some!
Photobucket

March: Emmett's still holding his sandwich
Photobucket

April: Carson and Avery both fall asleep before bedtime. This was a shocker since Avery never falls asleep anymore.
Photobucket

June: Emmett's just silly looking in the car
Photobucket

July: Emmett on the landing halfway up the stairs of all places.
Photobucket

July: Carson, just a little while before bedtime.
Photobucket

He's so handsome

And last, in September, we had to get soccer cleats for Avery but Emmett fell asleep on the way there. He threw a fit going in so I plopped him down and he promptly went to sleep. Thankfully! But then I got a lot of strange looks and questions as I was in nearby locations instead of right next to him. If people would mind their own business. I can't pack him around and still pull cleat boxes and also tie them on Avery so he could test them out too. And nobody would rather he was up and screaming. When I did have to leave that section of the store for something else and had to pick him up, he did scream the rest of the time and hauling him along was a nightmare. Ugh.
