So here's a bunch of shots from the season...

SCORE!

Avery's so happy with his score that he's skipping along and I think this shot is fun with the ref enjoying Avery's joy.

Stopped it!

Got it!

Did you see that stop, Mom?

Sometimes he tweaked his back that he hurt some months before and had to sit out.

The parent tunnel would get many run-throughs and on this occasion they all tumbled on each other.

We had a really frustrating end to the season. This boy on top of Avery was not a nice one. Earlier in the game he had charged our goalie because he was mad the goalie stopped his ball. There were other aggressions too, but then when he and Avery were both working at the same ball, Avery's flailing arm managed to elbow the kid in the face. Total accident. Grandma H has it all on video. But what does the kid do? He turns on Avery, shoves him down and then slams him with his body, knees first straight to Avery's ribs. Yet Avery was ejected and had to sit out the rest of his very last game while the other kid got to play. SO incredibly frustrating.

Despite the frustrating end, Avery mostly had fun with the season and definitely had growth in being a team member. He focuses too heavily on wins and losses, allowing loss to affect him too negatively. Basketball is up next, so we'll keep working on attitude and hope for lots more fun.

You know, Roland really enjoyed basketball after the intensity of an individual sport (wrestling). He wasn't some hidden phenom, but he seemed to like not having it all weigh on him!
