At the coast

Yesterday we went to the coast. Cape Lookout to be precise. Travis' sister Angela and her fiance needed engagement pictures. This same trip produced the pictures I've used for our blog, which can be seen in their entirety from the right side column of the blog.

Yesterday I was only 4 days from my due date and I've been walking around dilated to a 4 for a while - we thought some exercise on the beach might move things along (or maybe in that condition it was stupid to go so far from the hospital...) but no luck anyway. Here's some pictures:

Yes, that's me in all my bulky off-center-of-gravity pregnant self trying to navigate the rocks...

Mt. Hood Detour

We have a digital camera now! It's just a little Nikon Coolpix, but it's great knowing we can largely abandon developing pics and no more worrying about wasting film!

Anyway, on the way home from a visit to my parents' house (where I had my baby shower for our upcoming Avery) Travis decided to drive the Mt. Hood scenic route since I had never been that close to the mountain. Here are some pictures from along the way...

Travis took me up to Timberline Lodge so I could look around there too. On the way back down we saw a deer by the side of the road. He was only a few feet from us and didn't seem bothered by us at all.

Blog as a journal

June 17th, 2008:
I've never been one to journal. I do however love to take pictures and I certainly don't want to forget the why's behind my shots. So I've decided to add in back-dated blogs before I forget any more to have a chronological history - particularly of my boys' lives. Since I am trying to recreate a journal, I will write as if it just happened, not from my perspective now.
