Avery played t-ball this Spring through his school. I arrived to pick him up early on two of the days to get some pictures, and then on the last day (back in mid-May) all the parents were invited to come and play a game with their kids.
Go get it Avery!
Throw it in! (Can you see the ball?)
Emmett! Get down!
Nice hit!
Put the bat down, Avery...
... or just take it to 1st base, whatever.
Finish up the day with everyone running the bases a few times.
Get it Avery! Avery's friend Zachary likes to wrestle for anything in his vicinity, even if Avery's was the name called on the grounder the coach hit to him.
Throw it in!
Safe!
I think this is mutual support in trying to get the ball to first? In any case, his tongue is sticking out and it's funny.
Get it Zachary! Wait, EMMETT!!!
EMMETT! Get off the field! Stop chasing Zachary! Yeah, I had to go down and get the little stinker. Before I was able to grab him he was throwing balls onto the field too.
For the last day when the parents were invited to play, I invited Grandma H to come out and watch too. I set my camera and handed it over to her when I was in the field or at bat.
Avery and I warming up together with some catch. He liked to just throw it hard, and I had to do a lot of leaping about to catch it. Then I would remind him to throw nicely to me and I'd get a rocket to me instead. In other words, when he doesn't get too crazy and he focuses, he's got a great arm!
When it was time to play, the kids were adamant that we would play kids vs. grown-ups instead of paired with our kids.
Throw it in Avery!
Line drive to third
On second... with some outstanding posture. Gotta work on that.
Great hit Avery!
Almost home...
...happy skip...
...and score!
Ready!
Making fun of the grown-ups.
Time to receive their ribbons
With buddy Zachary
We love Zachary's family! He's the oldest of three boys just like Avery!

Go Steelheads!!! Looks like mom was taking her bat to first base too. On the shot you labeled 'and score!' it looks like he is sneaking up on home plate. I'm sure the kids were right to go up against the adults. That way they would be sure to win! Lots of FUN!!!
I love the photo of Emmett on the fence :-)
how fun he looks like a good player! Sienna is playing softball this season as well.
