If you're going to steal a camera maybe you shouldn't take a self portrait?
Or one of your accomplice?
Here's another of the random shots I found the boys had taken yesterday that wasn't just of carpet or other pointless bits. In fact, the fish have always featured in their clandestine photo shoots.

Mt Hood
On Friday we took a trip up to Mt Hood for the day. We started at Trillium Lake and it was too windy to get a good reflection shot, but it was still a beautiful sunny day.
The boys LOVED catching salamanders in the lake.
Bye!
We drove around to a few spots and it's really incredible to see what the melting snowpack can expand to fill!
We stopped at Timberline Lodge, which I had never been inside.
It's a cool lodge!
After the lodge and some good food at a local joint in Government Camp, we returned to the lake to wait for sunset. I loved this bright red canoe standing out on lake.
Apparently, decent sunset shots are extremely hard to come by here, and I don't have the proximity to come night after night to get one, so I'll take what I can and be happy with it and a great day.

Megan's Wedding
June 9th was Megan's wedding. It was a fun wedding day, and it was nice to relax and be a member of the family and not the photographer. After the ceremony, while the family pictures were being taken, I realized the boys and Alli were back up on the wall of the temple posing for an imaginary camera (The boys were up there earlier with the photographer). They shouldn't have been up there, but all that posing was irresistible so I grabbed some quick shots with my phone and ushered them down.
Later the reception was at Travis' parent's house. More pictures were there so, courtesy of Facebook, I grabbed this picture of our family that the photographer took.
The backyard went through a major transformation before the big day. What was a wild, way overgrown Christmas tree farm (see the four inline trees in the middle of this picture?) became park-like.
I arranged Megan's engagement pictures into a guest book and we played her pictures on the digital picture frame on the table.
Such cute thank you gifts.
Angela made all the yummy cupcakes.
The boys and cousin Damon enjoying a bit of the spread. As I took this shot Carson said, "I can't wait to try this mouse cheese!" (holey cheese!)
Mouse cheese or swiss cheese, he likes it.
Catch!
Sparklers, Hunsaker style.
I wish I could have moved fast enough to get Nick's pointing arm.
Congratulations Megan!

Carson's Big Haircut
Carson has great hair. It always looks good no matter the length, whereas Avery's only works super short or he starts looking like a puff ball. So Carson has been wearing his hair longer for a while now because I love how it looks with his bit of curl on the end.
Normally I keep it trimmed to a certain length, but knowing we were going to chop it all off for his Aunt Megan's upcoming wedding (that was last weekend) I didn't bother so these "before" pictures shaggier than normal.
But come on, he's so handsome!
Carson, on the other hand, was DONE with this look!
But you're so cute, Carson!
Time to chop!
Yikes, do not stop there!
Emmett and Avery each got their hair freshly cut for the wedding too, although I didn't take any pictures of Avery.
And the after! Sadly, I didn't set him up like the before pictures for an official "after" shot, but this works, and of course there'll be plenty of pics of the new do from now on.
And you're still so dang cute!
And this is just a very quirky Carson-esqu shot I thought I'd add too.

Sports
Avery has been involved in sports since Fall 2011, but I never posted about them! For my own sake I've added the posts back in time nearer when they happened. Here are the links to the posts:
Fall Soccer
(and a quick one of Emmett I added from during the soccer season while we were at a game)
We started swim lessons in December and are still doing them, but here's a post of pictures from when it was convenient to take pictures at the end of December last year.
Winter Basketball
A quick video of diving
Baseball and T-ball as Carson has started sports too.

Avery In Baseball
Avery was in Little League baseball for the first time this year. It was a good season for him. He definitely needs work on his fielding skills, or maybe it's more his attention that needs work... But he was a good hitter. His swing was unorthodox and we worked on that a lot, but he had the timing down better that everyone else, so he was pretty good for getting on base. All around, baseball has been better than soccer or basketball for him so we're excited for him to keep up with it.
Strike! Second game, still learning, but this was impressive that the catcher caught the ball since that was rather unusual throughout that level of the league.
Foul! But he made contact.
And then Avery had his first go as a catcher. At first he thought that would be cool, until he got the gear on and realized he hated all the gear.
Plus, moments like this didn't inspire joy in the position either.
So after that he really leaned back.
There it goes! High five Avery!
Around to third!
Another hit!
I can't figure out how Avery hit this, it looks in a weird position.
But he did!
Look Dad, I'm on third!
This was a rare sight, so Avery was always SO excited to actually make it home. Just the way the line up was Avery would often get on base, but rarely make it around the bases to home plate.
A brief pause to appreciate a hot third base coach...
Foul!
That's a hit!
Hit!
Ah, that ball's coming right at me!
This one is in though.
A pause for Carson to have his picture taken with his light saber go-gurt.
Picture day
Nice hit!
Avery was not super on top of fielding (attention problems) so it was always good to see him actually go after the ball!
Mom! Take a picture, I did it!
Don't swing at those high ones! That's better!
Not happy about having to be catcher again.
Hit... and they made the play, sad Avery.
And on his last game Avery enjoyed getting hit by the kid pitcher (kids pitched the last two innings in the last half of the season) TWO times. He thought that was a convenient way to get on base. Silly kid.
Avery missed the last game of the season for his Aunt Megan's wedding, but we were able to make it late to the pizza party after the game for him to get his trophy and say goodbye to everyone.
