Longhorn Hay

Last year when we came to Oregon for a visit over the 4th of July, we helped buck hay for Travis' sister Megan and her horse. This year, it was one of the first things we did when we moved back. It's funny leaving Milwaukee, which was barely beginning to feel Springish, and coming to Oregon to find they're already ready for a first cutting of hay! Travis did say we'd miss Spring this year, and I think he's right!

I'm supposed to be driving the truck so Megan can be a 4th set of hands...

...but Carson would have nothing to do with the old flat bed.

Papa had a car seat in the back of his pickup though, so I strapped him in when they finished the flatbed and drove the truck while they loaded the trailer.

After they finished loading, Avery gave me some "superhero" poses:

Avery getting sustenance after all his hard work

Avery really wanted to help - actually, he really wanted to climb up there with Daddy.

Before we left, we drove over to the owner of the hay to pay up.
They have this longhorn and as I stopped to take his picture,
I couldn't help but be thankful there was a fence between us!

Even as I moved forward for another angle, he kept his eye on me...

That cow looks dangerous. I'd want more than that skinny little fence.

Great pix Laurie.(as usual) You really need to look into selling some of them. Longhorns aren't as mean as they look, though I wouldn't like to be on the same side of the fence with them. The boys had a great time bucking bales didn't then? They also enjoyed doing something with Aunt Megan. Thanks for all your help with loading.
