Travis Turns Thirty

On 8-8-80 Travis was born and that means he's now turned the big three-oh! We went to dinner at Red Robin with the whole family.

He's so cute.


Then we went back to Travis' parents' house to digest before cake and Avery fed Julie.


Carson wanted a turn too.


Then it was time for cake. I think that it's funny that even birthday cake must be lit with a torch when the Hunsaker's are involved!


This was the cake I made for Travis to be shared with everyone...


Because he certainly didn't want to share his favorite cake that I made him! Like last year it's a double layer chocolate cake with a 3rd layer of brownie on the bottom and all chocolate frosting everywhere. We will not, however, be repeating the Hershey's Kisses decoration! Neither of us likes them much, so they didn't add to the cake at all, while the chocolate chips I've used the last two years were definitely a yummy addition.

Sleepy Times

Yesterday Emmett and I found Carson asleep in the the playroom and I decided it's been a while since I had a post of sleeping boys so of course it's time for another.

This was on July 24th when Carson came to me and said, "I'm a fish with goggles!" Later I found him like this.


Look at all the condensation in there!


Then he woke up and I guess he didn't want me to take his picture?


On July 13th Carson obviously decided to take a nap, but I guess he wanted an upgrade from the floor or his bed - I found him in my bed!


Every time I checked on him he was in a different position. Here he's grabbed Daddy's pillow to put on his head.


Now he's pulled the pillow entirely over his head.


So I had to take it off of him.


So sweet.


When Daddy got home I told him to wake Carson.


At least he woke in a good mood this time.


Silly boys.

Again And Again

Again Emmett? Seriously? Yeah, the little punk did this Monday (as previously posted) and Tuesday and Wednesday. Not today though, thankfully. Hmm... Who's not learning their lesson, him, or me for not getting the toothpaste out of his reach (which I have no clue where that would be).

Frank, This Post Is For You

The Aumsville Office one year anniversary party included a raffle, the grand prize being $1000 in free dentistry. I think it went to the perfect person. Frank won and he is a big fan of my photography that's displayed in the office. Even better, he used to shoot weddings, 2 or 3 a month, so it's always nice to have the support of another photographer. So yesterday he came into the office to have a consult about what he should use the $1000 for. And he brought a gift for me! He brought his flash bracket for me that he used to use when he shot weddings! He was also scheduled for more time than needed, so afterward Travis sat down at the computer with him to show him Laurie Marie Photography. I guess they sat there for about a half hour looking through my work. Travis was a good man and sat down with me last night to go back through an see what comments and suggestions he could remember that he hadn't already told me on the phone.

So back to why this post is for Frank. Sometime after he was in the office, Travis called me to tell me about his visit and his gift for me. When the phone rang I was almost finished cleaning up this:


I have to add this one too because I just noticed what Carson is doing in the background.




These were fairly new (and we have two because Carson hates the flavor of OralB)


*sigh* So I finished cleaning that up as Travis began to tell me about Frank's visit. When I finished cleaning the mess I walked in the hall to find Emmett coming towards me with a pen pointed towards his belly. I have no clue where he found the pen. He didn't appreciate me taking the pen away.


Then I walked in the office to put the pen away and found this under me desk. Seriously?


I would like to point out that these were already after I had cleaned up two other messes that morning. And so many days are like that! I feel like I'm loosing my mind half the time. But not on this day. Frank made the day. He saved it. Instead of ending the day feeling utterly defeated by a couple of punk midgets, I felt great! So, Frank, THANK YOU for loving my work, THANK YOU for thinking of me for you flash bracket, THANK YOU for all your comments and suggestions. THANK YOU. You made my day against many odds.

Aumsville One Year Anniversary

Last August Hunsaker Dental opened a second office in the small town of Aumsville, OR and on Saturday we had a party for the one year anniversary of the Aumsville office. There were hot dogs and sausages on the Traeger, cake, a raffle and 1430 KYKN broadcast from there.

And since I never posted about the Aumsville office last year when we were building it or the final results, I figure here's a good place to do that.

Of course I have plenty of pictures from the building process, but here's two from when Ben and Travis were running the speaker wires.


And Avery helped of course.

Reception


Reception from the other side. Being in a rural community they decided to give the office a John Deere theme. That's why Ben bought the old John Deere he uses to pull our float in all the parades we started doing last year. All the pictures in the office are ones I took in the area and mostly in keeping with the rural theme. They can all be seen over on Laurie Marie Photography.


Each operatory has a theme in pictures, like the Waterfall room (one of the deviations from rural)


And the Tractor room. There's also the Hay room and the fourth operatory still needs pictures as it's only more recently been outfitted but the plan is to put up some of my pictures from the coast (the other deviation from rural)
